Household Categorical Case Type Tab

This is where you can add case types to be used on student applications. Household Categorical Case Types added here will display for selection on the Student Information screen for New or Existing Applications.

Medicaid, TANF, SNAP, FDPIR, and Other are pre-added by Meals Plus and will always be set to Free Benefit Level.

  • Click the add case button button to add a new Case Type. A new form appears.

  • Turn on Enabled toggle button if the case type is available to be used on applications.
  • Enter the new Case Type in the new text field.
    • Case Types have a maximum of 15 characters.
    • Case Types cannot be edited/renamed once they have been used.
  • Select Free or Reduced from the Benefit Level dropdown.
    • The Reduced Case Type should only be used by districts that are approved to participate in DC-Reduced, which is based on Medicaid data.
      • Consult your state agency if you have questions about how this program works.
  • Set a district-created case type to SNAP Equivalent and/or DC Only by checking the box(es).
    • Medicaid, TANF, and FDPIR cannot be set to SNAP Equivalent.
    • TANF and FDPIR cannot be set to DC Only.
    • Medicaid will automatically be checked DC Only.
      • CalFresh in California is an example of a new case type that could be labeled SNAP Equivalent.
    • A reduced Benefit Level cannot be SNAP Equivalent.
  • Click the save button button when complete.
